I hope you are enjoying this beautiful day. 

As you have probably realized, the caterpillars are back in some of our trees. I want to caution everyone about the droppings on the sidewalks.  At first they are kind of dry and grainy, but they can make your foot slide if you step on them just right.  So walk with caution and try to avoid them.  

 

The real problem comes in when it rains and they get wet.  The droppings become very slippery.  When you see this happening, please walk around that section of sidewalk. If you have to go out into the street, please be very careful. 

We have been advised by many of the tree people and landscapers not to spray the trees.  It is not good for the trees and the caterpillars do not kill the them. 

The caterpillars are here for about a month.  They are ugly and make a mess, but we will get through it.
