Below are several important updates. Each topic is numbered. Please read #1 since it is an official announcement.
- The Villas of Wake Forest board has voted to move the Annual Meeting to a virtual meeting on Zoom at 1:00 P.M. on December 6, 2024. You will receive specific information about the agenda and how to access the meeting later. Factors contributing to this decision include a date conflict, the short agenda of an annual meeting, and the community meetings already held by the board this year.
- After 7½years as Landscape Committee Chairperson Marlene Barnes is stepping down from that position as of December 31st this year. We owe Marlene a huge debt of gratitude for her leadership, her expertise in working with various contractors, hundreds of hours of time and her love and care for the Villas.
- The board held a Villas of Wake Forest community meeting on September 25th at the United Methodist church. The agenda for the meeting and two handouts, one on the draft budget for 2025 and one on the Reserve Fund plan and budget for 2025, are posted on the Villas of Wake Forest website. Here is the link https://www.VillasOfWakeForest.com/BoardDocuments.
- You may have noticed that Greenscape, our landscaping company, has increased the frequency of trimming our bushes and shrubs. Their goal is to be caught up on trimming here in the Villas in the near future.
- The board has elected to postpone power washing the vinyl sided buildings until just after the heavy pollen season next spring due to scheduling with a new power washing company and it now being late in the season.
- Dryer vent cleaning is coming soon thanks to Pat Ellis who volunteered to lead the project and Jackie Barnes who is assisting Pat. Watch you email for details.
- We have learned that the United Methodist church has increased their rental fee and that they no long have any audio visual equipment available for use apart from a screen. The feedback from our recent meeting was that many of the people who attended had a difficult time hearing what was being said. In reflecting on the interest in “All Community Meetings” which some refer to as Town Hall Meetings, a reason often given is so that ‘everyone in the community can hear what is said’. As of this month’s Villas directory ours is a community of 214 residents. The attendance at this last All Community meeting was 65-70 people including the board members. Very large events like our Christmas dinner and some outdoor events approach or slightly exceed one hundred people in attendance. One third to one half of the community is together at any given time. Therefore, the board is considering moving to multiple community meetings held in our clubhouse. Doing so would improve accessibility, allow us to have better sound, and use of the big TV screen for visuals.
If you have any questions or feedback, please email any board member.

Barney
