Letters from Landscape

April showers brought May flowers, but May rain brought the weeds!!  Our second Turf Treatment of weed control will be done the week of June 4, weather permitting.  A reminder email will be sent as we keep fingers crossed for a few dry days!

The Landscape team is working with the Landscape Architect for ideas for the remainder of 2025 projects.  We walked with them last week and they had some great ideas.  They will continue the walk throughs, and can be identified by their green shirts and will be making notes on Ipads.  One suggestion they gave us was to use native plants with color, and pollinators.  They are very aware of our budget and the Team feels we will get a few awesome projects without breaking our bank. As you walk or drive through the Villas, it is obvious that we have LOTS of Green in the mulch areas, and color is really needed.  Please keep that advice in mind if you decide to put plants in your mulch area.  Also, once you plant, you are responsible to keep it watered, and for its removal if it dies.  If you trim any plants, shrubs, trees near your house, you are responsible for placing it in the proper container for Yard Waste Pick up through the Town truck that usually comes on Thursday morning.

As we have mentioned before, our Landscapers do not work for individuals, they work for the Villas.  These past two weeks have been a challenge with all the rain.  The mowers last week were set at a higher level due to the wetness of the turf, and the height of the grass.  We should be back to the usual blade level for our next mowing, weather permitting.   We also need to be aware that the Villas is not the only customer for Greenscape, and they are doing their best to keep all their accounts done properly under the rainy conditions.

Our first trimming of the season will begin shortly.  We are asking them to trim a little lower than they have done in the past as our shrubs really sprout up this time of year.  You may have noticed the shrubs at the Clubhouse.  When they were first trimmed, they looked a little sparse, but with all the rain, they have really turned out into lovely shrubs.  Please take notice next time you are by the Clubhouse.
