I am thrilled to be able to bring the Blog back to the Villas! It is the desire of the Board to keep all lines of communication open and to welcome concerns and suggestions. We hope all residents will find this helpful.
The Board met on October 22, with discussions from all Committee Liaisons. We have one of the level spreaders that did not pass inspection for 2025 and Chris Jones (Facilities) is working with the Town of Wake Forest to have this corrected for 2026. He also explained the fee residents paid for storm water early in 2025 is for your personal hard surface areas such as your roof, patio, and parking space at your home. The COA was charged an additional fee for the Clubhouse hard surfaces and the common areas. In the future, resident fees will be added to taxes. Chris is also hoping to add new members to the facilities team, so please contact him if you are interested.
Pam Alig (Landscape, Pool, and Clubhouse) reported an emergency Birch Tree removal as the recent rains have caused water to back up in one of our homes. The Committee has also completed a walkthrough of buildings 1 through 6 to assess Junipers that need to be removed in 2026. The committee also recommended replacement of the irrigation heads and winterizing of the system at the clubhouse for better use of water to keep our new plants and sod healthy, and to turn off areas that do not need to be watered. New items for the 2026 pool year including new Gazebo covers and hand railing covers have been purchased. The Clubhouse committee is discussing the replacement of some chairs in the Clubhouse, a new foyer rug, cleaning protocol of the exercise equipment area, removal of the pull-down projection screen, and concrete tables and benches in the common area.
Linda Coffey (Social and Election Committee) discussed the Election committee is gathering all information needed for the Election mailings. The Pizza party, Ice Cream Social, and VFW food wagon were all very successful. Please remember the time change that will occur on November 2.
One of our residents, Donna Turnage has donated two of her handmade quilts, one of which will be raffled at December Bingo, with the second one raffled in 2026. Anyone can purchase one ticket for $4.00 or 3 tickets for $10.00 from Tricia Emory during Ladies coffee or by contacting her at home. The proceeds from the raffle will be used to support the monthly Bingo prizes and supplies.
A Donation barrel has been placed in the Clubhouse to accept donations for the Wake Forest Food pantry, and will stay in place until November 2, 2025. The pantry is currently supporting so many families their usual stockpile of food is being rapidly depleted. A complete list of items needed will be placed on the Clubhouse Bulletin Board. Examples are Peanut butter, canned soups, vegetables, fruits, and meats (tuna or chicken), Raman noodles, cereals, pastas and sauce (no glass jars) , diapers, and wipes. If you would prefer to donate money, please contact Margaret Falk or mail directly to Tri Area Ministry Food Pantry 149 E. Holding Ave. Wake Forest NC 27587.
The Social Team is busy preparing for the Annual Holiday party at Campbell Lodge. The cost of the party is $35.00 per person, guests are welcome and checks can be paid to Donna Turnage.
