Richland Creek Survey
Posted on Mar 19th, 2022

Fellow Residents,

I received a letter in yesterday's mail (Friday March 18th) from the Town of Wake Forest (TOWF) related to an upcoming survey being conducted in the Richland Creek area. Following are the important excerpts from that letter.

" As part of the ongoing Stormwater Infrastructure Assessment being conducted , the Town and its consultant, Freese and Nichols will be performing surveys of erosion along Richland Creek and its tributaries. This work is being undertaken to help us understand where streambank erosion is occurring in the Town's watersheds. To complete this task, it may be necessary for our consultants to have access to your property. No building or structures located on your property will be entered or disturbed as part of the work.

The survey crews will be instructed to protect all property and to cooperate fully with the property owners. The crews can be identified by high-visibility safety vests and will be instructed to carry a copy of this letter.

We hope to begin the erosion surveys March 21, 2022 and will require approximately a week to complete."

Neighbors, this notice mainly affects those living along the deep divide between the Villa's and Wegman's and continuing behind the homes which back up to Highway #98 and Capital Blvd. The survey crews may need to use the common area of driveways and yards to gain access to the creek area.

Thank you all for your anticipated cooperation during this survey work and if a problem does arise, which is unlikely, please email me.
