Folks, the following is a message from the company that manages our spreaders, the devices or ponds at the bottom of some of our driveway drains.

Hi All,

We are currently prepping for the storm. There is nothing for you or you residents to do for the BMPs/SCMs - we have it.

The BMP / SCM devices are designed with large rain events in mind. With our ongoing maintenance program keeping them clear, we should fare well. We will continue to monitor the weather and rain gauges. We will be checking all devices after the event to insure they are drawing back down appropriately.

The potential for water overtopping a device is there with the amount of rain expected but again, these devices have design elements to deal with this. That in itself is not reason for alarm. It is a part of the design.

We had a six inch event in June with no problems on any devices we maintain; this is potentially slightly more rain but should be okay.

All that being said, if any of your residents notice anything that seems out of the ordinary, you can forward that to us so that we can prioritize it for investigation. The more eyes we have out there the better!

We will contact you should there be any problems.

In the meantime, Be safe!

Thank you,
Cathy Brown
