Hurricane & Wake Forest services update
Posted on Sep 12th, 2018
A couple of updates for the community.
Wake Forest has decided to suspend garbage and recycling collection Friday, Sept. 14. Friday's route will be collected next Friday, Sept. 21. Please do not put the trash out Thursday night as you would normally do. Keep the receptacles in the garage during the storm so that they do not cause damage or come open and fill the community with waste.
Mark told me that the Raleigh Water system has announced that they expect to provide water pressure throughout the storm period as they have sufficient alternate power sources to keep the pumps working even if we lose electrical power. So toilets will work and water quality out of the taps will be maintained. We get our water from Raleigh so not to worry.
Please keep your neighbors up to date. Keep up with the changing path of the storm. Wind speed has dropped and the turn towards the south will also help us. The rain however could continue for several days and the latest estimate is about 5 to 6 inches.
Stay alert for ponding water at intersections or trees that could be down with the extended rain period that is expected.
Thanks,
Ed for the Board
