In a previous blog I had asked that all residents cross their fingers for rain to help with the removal of the yellow pollen and it worked!! The pollen did not seem as bad this year, so I am asking you to cross those fingers again as we are so desperate for rain. The grass, flowers and trees are so thirsty and now we are under City of Raleigh water restrictions. For the latest news and rules on water usage please go to

In the past couple of weeks, the Clubhouse was inspected by the Fire department, and we did great!! All extinguishers, trouble lights, exit signs, the pool telephone and more are in excellent condition. Thanks to the Fire department for making sure we are all safe in the Clubhouse.
Next week is Mulch week for us!! Make sure your mulch areas are free of gazing balls, hoses, and pots. Shepherd crooks are fine to stay in place. The new layers of mulch will add so much to our curb appeal, and thanks to the Landscape Team for making the arrangements.
In May, the Board will be holding a community meeting that you will be asked to sign up for. The meeting will be a review of completed and projected projects, finances, and resident participation for questions. Details, instructions for signing up, and the date will follow.
Also in May, the homes with vinyl siding will be power washed, along with painting of several homes with Hardy board. There also may be an opportunity to have patios cleaned for those who are not having their homes washed. Details and date will follow with more information.
There will be another quilt raffle in May. Tickets are available during Ladies coffee, or by contacting Tricia Emery at 1010 Bluebird. The raffle will be during Bingo but you do not have to be present to win. There will also be a raffle at the Picnic dinner tomorrow night so bring you money to enter the fun contest.
We were missed on yard waste pick up last week, and hopefully they will be here for pickup this week. When we are occasionally missed, please do not leave your bags on the sidewalk, as it can present a hazard for the residents who use walkers or mobile scooters. Also, remember that all yard waste must be in a paper lawn bag or a reusable container, not plastic bags. Our pickup day is Friday. Please place your ward waste on Thursdays after 4:30 PM.
Random acts of Kindness nominations are Donna Turnage for her Quilt donation, several residents who pick up mail for others, and to Lessie Pearce who donates her time to prepare the calendar which gives up many opportunities to gather and enjoy the Villas to the fullest.
Until next time…
(Becky Tucci, Board Secretary)
