DOGS --->  We all love our pups (me included) and this is the reminder that that in our neighborhood we DO NOT allow dogs to be tethered outside at any time. They must be on a leash with a handler if not inside a fence any time of the year, and especially in this heat. A tether sitting on the ground for this use will be handled the same as a dog being tethered outside as we have had instances of the mowers running them over causing yet another problem. Letters will be issued from York as warranted.

Also- Be cognizant of the sidewalk and asphalt heat on their paws.

SPEED ---> Blue Bird has become a bit of an unintentional thoroughfare in recent years with the Ligon Mill entrance.  Until now, we have considered speeding cars to be guests or locals who just don't know better. We are in a residential zone and safety should come first at all times.  The Board will consider requesting a lower posted speed limit and/or speed bumps if the speeding continues. One way we can all help is not only to greet our friends with a wave but maybe a quick gesture to slow down a little. Self policing would be a better option than calling police on neighbors if we all just pay a little more attention.

Stay safe and call any of your Board members if you have information you would like to share.

On behalf or the the Villas COA Board,

Shelley Welch,
President and Town of WF Liaison

FOLLOWUP:
The posted speed limit is 20 mph in the Villas. With Ligon Mill being 35 mph, folks may not realize that significant a speed reduction is expected/ required after the turn.
