NOTES: Many critics and soldiers have said this is the BEST Word War II movie E-V-E-R made. The first 20 minutes of the movie (the landing on the Normandy beaches) are extremely intense. Many patrons had to leave the theater showing because they could not take it, and they knew it was JUST A MOVIE.
And just my opinion - this is best movie by Tom Hanks. And he has made some great ones. Not spoiling anything, near the end of the movie, when he looks at Mat Damon and says "Earn this!!" - I almost lose it every time. Truly, this was the GREATEST GENERATION...
